The legendary Blowout Sales at Kleinfeld Bridal are known for two things: massively discounted designer gowns and absolute, unapologetic chaos. With dresses marked down by 50% to 70%, brides have been known to camp out outside the New York salon from 9:00 AM just to get their hands on a bargain.
But in a recent episode of Say Yes to the Dress, the competitive frenzy crossed the line from aggressive shopping into a literal crime
Randy’s Hilarious Threat
When the doors opened at 3:00 PM, dozens of eager, bargain-hunting brides flooded the salon. The energy in the store was palpable, with consultants rushing to manage the massive influx of women all vying for the same sample dresses.
Fights over gowns are somewhat expected during these events. It’s common for one bride to refuse to take off a dress simply because she knows another girl is waiting outside the fitting room to grab it. However, nobody anticipated that the desperation to secure a dream dress would lead to a brazen act of theft right in the middle of the sales floor.
“I Thought It Was My Winter Coat!”
Amidst the hustle and bustle, one of the bridal consultants rushed over to Fashion Director Randy Fenoli with some shocking news. She had just walked into a fitting room to find a bride actively stuffing a massive wedding gown into her personal purse.
“It’s a very uncomfortable feeling. We never have any dresses stolen, so this really shook everybody up a little bit,” Randy confessed, visibly distressed by the situation.
But what truly left the staff—and viewers—speechless was the bride’s reaction when she was caught red-handed. Instead of panicking or apologizing, the bride casually turned around and offered the most insulting, ridiculous excuse imaginable:
“I don’t know what I was thinking. I must have thought it was my coat.”
Randy’s Hilarious Threat
Thankfully, the dress was recovered before it could be smuggled out of the salon. The news of the attempted heist spread through the Kleinfeld staff in an instant.
While the police weren’t called to the scene, the salon’s security was immediately heightened. Randy issued a strict warning to his team to keep a close eye on the culprit’s bags, ensuring they didn’t look “any puffier than when they came in.”
His final warning for the sticky-fingered bride? “I’m gonna watch them very carefully, and if they cause any trouble, I’m gonna throw them out on their ass!”
While the blowout sale ultimately ended in success for many honest brides, this “winter coat” thief definitely earned her spot in the Kleinfeld Hall of Shame.
